Christian Quotes worth Enjoying

I honestly don't care about your rights. If it were up to me, all Atheists would be burnt at the stake and or cast into a river with weights tied to their ankles and or placed before the firing squad, etc etc etc.

[One Christian speaking to another]

You are banned. You are not a Christian for Christians don't accuse brothers and sisters in Christ of being non-Christian.

[Talking about an eleven year old girl who was raped and then buried alive] god was sacrificing this child as a way to show others the light. much as he did his own child. what a beautiful gift he has given us.

To say the Bible was written by men and may contain inaccuracies completely contradicts the word of the Bible.

Questions to Ask

Why is God called loving or merciful when, in the Old Testament's stories of the Israelite conquest, he specifically orders his chosen people to massacre their enemies, showing no mercy to men, women, even children and animals?

Why do vast numbers of Christians still believe in the imminent end of the world when the New Testament states clearly that the apocalypse was supposed to happen 2,000 years ago, during the lifetime of Jesus' contemporaries?

If you had the power to help all people who are suffering or in need, at no cost or effort to yourself, would you do it? If so, why hasn't God done this already?

Is it fair or rational for God to hide himself so that he can only be known by faith, then insist that every single human being find him by picking the right one out of thousands of conflicting and incompatible religions?

Since the Bible states that God does not desire that anyone perish, but also states that the majority of humankind is going to hell, doesn't this show that God's plan of salvation is a failure even by his own standard? If this outcome is a success, what would count as a failure?

We were lectured on Twitter!

I hope this is easy to follow:

I retweeted @melod when she responded to me as seen here:

  • RT @mel0d: @HeavensHoax religions "answers" are never questioned by those who lack faith in themselves.
@unthiest retweeed me.
Then @GospelToday thought we should have Bible Study I guess.
  1. GospelToday@unTheist @DailyAtheist @HeavensHoax James 3:16 - For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
  2. GospelToday@unTheist @DailyAtheist @HeavensHoax James 3:14a - But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart,
  3. GospelToday@unTheist @DailyAtheist @HeavensHoax James 3:14b - do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
Can I get some thoughts?

Quotable Friday (too many characters for twitter)

"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me." --Emo Philips

"We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes." --Gene Roddenberry

Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?" Priest: "No, not if you did not know." Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?" --Annie Dillard, 'Pilgrim at Tinker Creek'

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." --Stephen Roberts

"Jesus' last words on the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" hardly seem like the words of a man who planned it that way. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure there is something wrong here." --Donald Morgan

Life on Earth is the Test?

I often ask the question: If the afterlife is so much better, why not kill yourself?

The answer often is something like: God put us here as a test and/or to spread the word.

Apparently this world is as miserable as a Chemistry test. This would lead you to believe that every person who feels this way is actually miserable considering I have never met a person who enjoys tests. Since we all normally can't wait for tests to be over, this sounds like a miserable life.

Or it is another bad explanation for another illogical explanation of their faith.

Thoughts?

Evolution: Explained: Hilarious

The Differences between Atheism and Christianity

Christianity
  • We demand ten percent of your money.
  • We demand at least one hour per week of your time.
  • We demand total allegiance.
  • Don't think for yourself.
  • Obey all of our rules, even if they're absurd or evil.
  • Only vote for candidates of whom we approve.
  • If you disagree with us, you will be roasted in the flames of hell for all eternity.
  • People on the other side are either knowing or unknowing agents of the devil.
Atheism
  • We don't want your money.
  • We don't want your time.
  • We don't want your allegiance.
  • Think for yourself.
  • Live as you see fit.
  • Vote for whomever you want.
  • If you disagree with us, nothing bad will happen to you.
  • Most people on the other side are good people who are simply mistaken.
